2017 Annual Meeting Minutes

 

Town of Clearfield Annual Meeting was held April 19, 2017. There were twenty-five (25) people in attendance: Sharon Halverson, Gene Halverson, Winnie Zander, Raymond Zander, James DiPuma, Michael Nimmo, Wiliam Frantal, Richard Frantal, Charlie Neitzel, Bridget Neitzel, Ron Krizan, Ryan Krizan, Deb Slye, Doug Duray, Mike Meixner, Jim Suzda, Cindy Suzda, Cindy McCormack, Rep. Ed Brooks, Joleen Stanton, Robert Stanton,Shane Adler, Robert Adler, Patty Bala and Mark Bala.

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm. It was noted that the meeting had been properly posted and published.

The Pledge of Allegiance. Michael Meixner led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Approve Agenda. Motion by Raymond Zander, second by Mike Nimmo to approve the agenda as presented and that the agenda was properly posted. Motion carried.

Year 2016 Annual Meeting Minutes.  Motion by Joleen Stanton, second by Raymond Zander to accept the minutes as presented. Motion carried

Clerk’s 2016 Financial Report. As the clerk’s Financial Report had been distributed to the attendees prior to the meeting, the reading of the report was given by Cindy Suzda and asked if there were any questions. There were no questions or comments. Motion by Robert Stanton, second by Deb Slye to approve the Annual Financial Report as presented. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s 2016 Tax Account Report. The Treasurer presented the 2016 Tax Account Report. Taxes in the amount of $866,721.31 were collected by the treasurer. Payments of $804,806.46 were made to the county, state, and schools. The balance on hand as of April 19, 2017 was $74,648.30.  The 2016 tax roll was broken down as follows:

Motion by Sharon Halverson, second by Michael Nimmo to accept the 2016 Tax Account Report as given. Motion Carried.

Approve Legal Counsel. Stephen Chiquoine currently is the Town Counsel. Motion by Sharon Halverson, second by Cindy Suzda to retain Stephen Chiquoine as Town Counsel. Motion carried.

Approve Depository. The Bank of Mauston is currently the Town Depository. Motion by Robert Stanton, second by Joleen Stanton to retain The Bank of Mauston as the Town Depository. Motion carried.

Town Levy. Motion by Raymond Zander, second by Gene Halverson to postpone setting the town levy until the November 2017 Budget Meeting. Motion carried.

Honor Citizen of the Year. Robert and Joleen Stanton, 2016 Citizens of the Year, selected Debra Slye as Town of Clearfield Citizen of the Year for 2017. Debra Slye was presented with a clock from the Town of Clearfield. Rep. Ed Brooks presented Debra Slye with a citation from the Wisconsin State Legislature.

Citizen of the Year Committee. Debra Slye will serve as the Citizen of the Year Committee for 2018

Set Next Annual Meeting Date.Motion by Robert Stanton, second by Richard Frantal to set the 2018 Annual Meeting date for Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Motion carried.

Adjourn.Motion by Joleen Stanton, second by Debra Slye to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:30pm.
