Monthly Board Meeting
July 2009
Town of Clearfield Board Meeting was held Wednesday, July 15, 2009. The following people were in attendance: Ron Lauden, Jim Suzda, Kathy Davis, Cindy Suzda, Jody Bigalke, George Davis, and Jim Rattunde (Necedah EMS). Ron Bailey was absent.
Ron Lauden chaired the meeting; it was opened at 7:00pm. It was noted that the meeting had been properly posted.
Approve Agenda. Motion by Suzda, second by Lauden to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried.
Public Comments. None.
Clerk’s Minutes. Motion by Suzda, second by Lauden to approve the minutes of the June Board Meeting. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report. Cindy Suzda presented the Treasurer’s report for July 2009. The Money Market account balance was $142,003.96 and the checking account balance was $3508.70. The report was placed on file.
Necedah EMS. Jim Rattunde presented the preliminary 2010 contract for Necedah emergency services. They are proposing a 5-year contract at a cost of $15.00 per capita. The contract can only be opened up for territory or cost discussions.
Road Report. Bigalke reported that the plow truck had been serviced at V&H. Hwy 80 Auto put on new tractor tires on the front. Several complaints had been received regarding the tall grass at the
intersections along Hwy 80. Scott Construction wedged 39th Street.
Building Permits. The following applications were reviewed this month:

The Clerk distributed the year-to-date Building Permit Recap.
Update: Hanson Building Permit Violation. Mark Hanson has submitted a building permit application; the septic is being installed this week.
Camper Violations. The Zoning Administrator reported that Roy Olson on Ria Lane still has not been located.
Camping Permits. Motion by Suzda, second by Lauden to approve 60-day camping extensions to Steven Hobson and Alice Clark. Motion carried.
Update: Stephens (Hadley) Property. As of July 8th, Dennis and Kara Hadley were still waiting for Gary Stephens to sign the deed to the property on 39th Street.
Town Bulletin Boards. Have not received a quote from Gene Morris yet.
LP Prepay. Motion by Lauden, second by Suzda to purchase 800 gallons of LP at $1.32/gallon for Town Hall and the storage building. Motion carried.
Correspondence/Updates. There is a Sign Retroreflectivity workshop September 22nd in Tomah. The Clerk received a phone call informing that, according to the IRS, the Juneau County Humane Society has been a non-responder since 2004 and is no longer a non-profit organization. The Clerk distributed the year-to-date billing and budget reports.
Board Comments. Shoulder damage on 30th Street (Jeff Green property); the Town will repair and bill the property owner. Lauden will contact V&H regarding the loose truck lights and possible transmission slippage.
August Board Meeting Agenda. Necedah EMS, sign workshop, bulletin boards, Juneau County Humane Society, employee performance reviews, Hadley/Stephens property, and camper violations.
Payment of Bills. Motion by Suzda, second by Lauden to approve the payment of vouchers as presented in the amount of $25,826.36. Motion carried.
Closed Session. Motion by Suzda, second by Lauden to table the employee performance reviews until the August Board Meeting. Jim Suzda—yes, Ron Lauden—yes, Ron Bailey—absent. Motion carried.
Adjournment. Motion by Suzda, second by Lauden to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 8:38pm. The next Board Meeting is scheduled for August 19, 2009.
